Cheney 14 years ago. He had it right then...

How many OIL dollars were necessary to CHANGE his mind?

Bush talks about the "invisible" terrorists again

"The terrorists who murder the innocent in the streets of Baghdad want to murder the innocent in the streets of American cities," he said.

What the f*ck is he talking about?
Does anyone outside of the USA really believe:
-that Muslims who had a few weeks of "fly"lessons with a playmobil airplane can fly a 767 straight into the WTC ... TWICE
Look at the movies, picture perfect, no amateur can fly such a plane precisely into the WTC. NO one, this is professional grade.
-that an airplane can fly into the Pentagon, without leaving a trace of the Titanium engines?
-that an airplane can fly into the Pentagon, without being shot down by an Thomcat / F15?
-that the "terrorists" benefited from this attack as much as the Bush and the "Saudi Arabia" family did?
-that Bush supports a strong dollar policy
-that a bailout of big banks will save the economy or postpone the inevitable

We're back from our trip

We couldn't complete our trip, we were "snowed in" at Sedona. We had to cancel our trip to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. We had to go through the mountains of Flagstaff and we thought it was too dangerous.
This was taken on the road from Payson to Sedona.
The biggest Kokopelli in the world.
The view from our roomof our hotel in Sedona. Probably the most beautiful place in the world.
Lisa in an artist shop where they produce candles.
High fiving with Winny the Pooh Extra Large.
Beautiful red rocks in the morning.
Naomi in a State Park in Sedona.
Lovely creeks, too bad it wasn't 90 F.
This is the first picture after the snow(storm).

On our way back, did you ever see such HUGE tires?

Mortgage Rates

The 30 year mortage rate is on a rollercoaster ride:

It was a very important factor in buying our home, interest rates were at the 5.5% level then. (1 st week of February)

Last week the interest rate was at 6.08% and today it's 5.66%.
To give you an idea of the difference in payment for every interest rate level:(everything is quoted in "useless" dollars)
100 000 / 30 y Fixed / 6.30 = 619 a month
100 000 / 30 y Fixed / 6.10 = 606 a month

100 000 / 30 y Fixed / 5.90 = 593 a month
100 000 / 30 y Fixed / 5.70 = 580 a month
100 000 / 30 y Fixed / 5.50 = 568 a month
100 000 / 30 y Fixed / 5.30 = 555 a month

Belgian winner Eurovision songcontest

Thought I saw it all with this:

Quote of the YEAR

JPMorgan Chase said on Sunday that it found Bear Stearns Inc. a well run bank with good risk control.LINK
Bear Stearns' charts (6 months):
JPMorgan announced earlier it would buy Bear Stearns for about $2 a share.
WaaaaW, couldn't believe that when I read it. Thought I was hallucinating... Still can't believe it " well run bank with good risk control". This must be THE financial QUOTE of the YEAR.

Using our tax dollars to pay for the Maserati's of Bear Stearns traders is pretty lame to me.

Grand Canyon

We'll be visiting the Grand Canyon this week-end.

This is the grand canyon skywalk, we won't visit it but I liked the music and the video. And it gives you an idea of the incredible Rock formation.

Democrats vs Hillary

She will not go away. She will not lose with grace. She will not do what's right for her party or her country. Lawyers will come next. Claws will come out. And this race is going to get very, very, very ugly now.

Final Visit Design Center

Monday we vistited the Design Center of our Builder.

We bought 2 options:
1. A sort of titanium/grey look for the doorknobs. (standard was chrome)
2. Full tile first floor. (180 m2 / 2000 sq ft)

Flooring:
Tile 17.5 inch (40 cm) green-ish Porcelain tile.
Tiles are installed in a diagonal, so the floor doesn't look like a checkered board.
With little, 4 inch (10cm) granite squares in between the tiles.
In the hallway they will put in a rectamgular pattern, with granite and the little squares (see picture)
All options combines, on the left you can see the colors of our sofa and pillows.
Tile with granite.

Patterm in the hallway, tile - granite - first row of little pieces.

Lake Community pics

The main entrance of the Lake Community (closest to our rental property)
The lake, but no homes yet.
A nice waterfall at the entrance.
Second entrance to the Lake Community.
Waterfall at the second entrance (left).
Our lot, they started loosening up the hard soil.
Our lot from the opposite side.
A little bit further away, our home should be able to fit between those two homes...
Our new mailbox:
Model homes of the other builder at the lakes. They built 5 homes with lakeview. A(n) (group of) investor(s) bought them and is renting them out. This builder is not building anymore, they are selling their inventory first before they will start the built to order process. They will probably be bankrupt before that happens.

A Meritage home across our home, which is almost finished. However this one is still available for purchase.
