When McSame becomes seriously ill during his term, the new President is...

Mitt Romney? Tom Ridge? Lindsay Graham? Rudy? Tim Pawlenty? Mike Huckabee? Kay Baily Hutchinson? Condi Rice? Charlie Crist?

Nope, may I introduce to you the new President of the United States: Sarah Palin.
She is part of the weapon lobby and she wants to drill for oil in Alaska (she is the governor there lol). She fits together nicely with McSame and Bush. Even voters for Hillary Clinton should be able to see that. But after looking at that global warming poll and the "Miss" I am not so sure...

Would you believe it

It's the same damn President who let his people to believe a war in Iraq was justified that made this nation believe that global warming is not a reality. His oil buddies probably prepared his speeches on that.
Because of the overwhelming evidence, the Bush administration had to change their point of view: LINK, but there is still a majority of people here that believes that global warming is a fairy tale. Sad, sad, sad,...
She probably doesn't believe in global warming either, it's probably just science fiction...

I hear ya

I don't care about parties but "enough is enough" ... it is time to kick the warlords and oil puppets out of the White House. They have caused enough damage...
The war in Iraq costs $4000 a second ... money that is just wasted, there are no terrorists. Money that could have been used for health care, education, infrastructure, ... but of course that is too much rationality for some.

Labor day trip

We'll be visiting Flagstaff this labord-day weekend. We'll take Selina and Pieter. Someone has to boost the economy...

We have a day off this Monday, September 1st.

We'll be staying here. (lol)

Here you have it

Now every industry that is having a hard time wants to be bailed out by the government. Yep, socialism is all we need.

GM's (General Motors) Lutz calls for $50 billion in government-backed loans

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- General Motors Vice Chairman Robert Lutz was quoted by The New York Times as saying automakers deserve up to $50 billion in government-backed loans to build more fuel-efficient cars.
Lutz told reporters in an event near Chicago that the American auto industry is deserving of government loan guarantees to retool plants. The automakers and the UAW are urging Congress to appropriate $3.75 billion to back $25 billion in loans authorized last year

And they had a perfectly working electric car in 1996, but under pressure of the oil industry they destroyed each one of those cars...

This basically sums up what most people here are going through

Forum post from 85239.com (the local website)

I am sure many, if not most of you on this forum might be in the same situation I am in, but I need to vent.

We purchased our home with 10% down over two years ago for $249000, we have a conventional 30-year fixed loan, and make enough to cover all our costs. We did everything right...you would think.

Now, as is the case with many, our home is worth about 85k, if lucky, and am VERY fearful we will be stuck here for the next 20 friggin years before we even break even.

Meanwhile, those that didnt do things right, and got themselves into homes that they cant afford, are going to reap the reward of the bailout this October, when we make too much to qualify (Just under the 31% or whatever it is of total income goes to pay mortgage). No offense to those that couldnt help falling into this situation, this help is meant to help you, not dumbarse who didnt plan properly.

It is just funny to me that Joe Schmo down the street gets assistance when he screwed up, while many of us have to drown in homes that are so far upside down, we might as well section a part of our back yards out for plots, because we are probably gonna die in these homes we will be here so long.

Lord knows I dont want to contribute to the problem, but the short sale, or walk away is looking better and better now, esecially when I can save nearly $600 a month on gas, and mortgage payment alone if I move back to Chandler/Gilbert.

Finally this:

Liar, liar, your pants is on fire, Dementia part 2 (or was it 3 or 4)...

It's finally start to sink in by the vast majority of Americans that a Bush Depression is coming

This will be an exciting movie:
I.O.U.S.A

The seventies were an economic disaster because of the spending and the Vietnam war in the sixties.
The next President will NOT be re-elected, cause he will inherit Bush's mess and printing more dollars is not an option anymore. It would put the American Economy back to the Stone Age. The next president has to take very unpopular actions (raising taxes) to avoid an imminent economic collapse.

Yep Iraq is a waste of money ... money that could be used to help the people of the U-S-A, but no "it's all about the Benjamins, baby".

The Money Show San Francisco: August 9, 2008
Peter Schiff:
"Bush is now more unpopular than Richard Nixon after Watergate. How can that be if the economy is as good as they tell us?"(this was a rhetoric question, but someone in the audience didn't understand that, but he understood somthing else...)

Person from the audience:
"It's Bush"

That is one WELL EDUCATED American.

Mind you Nixon was the President who took the worst economical decision of all time: detaching the dollar from the gold standard and by doing that, allowing the government to print money at wish, which causes inflation ... and eventually takes the economy down the drain.

Meanwhile the Russians are buying prime real estate in Europe

A Russian billionaire paid $750 000 000 for the most expensive real estate home transaction EVER, Villa Leopolda.

The real estate world is abuzz with news that a French Riviera home called the Villa Leopolda, built by King Leopold II of Belgium in 1902, has sold for $750 million to a Russian oligarch.

Quote of the day

Home owners are quite aware of the slow housing market, but most of them don’t think the trend is affecting their property, according to recent survey of 1,361 home owners.
Harris Interactive conducted the Homeowner Confidence Survey on behalf of real estate Web site Zillow. Results show that nearly two out of three (62 percent) home owners think their home value has increased or remained the same in the past year.

The dollar is on the rise

The dollar is breaking out and as described before we have set an intermediate low for the dollar.

See previous article (April 19 2008)

Longer term, the dollar is a currency to avoid, but in the next year the dollar can rise substantially. A lot of people are betting against the dollar and when everyone bets in the same direction, the market reverses course.

Enjoy

The decline in home prices is accelerating

We are at the beginning of a real change now, the first dominoe was the subprime mortgage loans, the next one that falls will the Home Equity Lines of credits that are now worthless, next dominoe will be the ALT A loans (=people with good credit)and then the banking, insurance and retail sector will come crashing down. A credit crunch takes years, decades to get through. It is not a 1 or 2 year "blip", it is a very serious change in the mentality of the banks.

Where are Peter Schiff and Jim Rogers?

Naomi's (new)school will not be build because the contractor couldn't get financing...

Incredible article:
Japan's Lost Decade (Lessons for the United States in 2008)

In the beginning of the 20th century 1908, the United States for the first time became a greater economical power than their European ancestors.
We are at such an important juncture again, precisely a century later.

Housing info:
When we cancelled our home 1 month ago, there were 38 homes under $100 000 for sale in Maricopa. One month later there are 63 homes for sale under that 100k mark. The cheapest home over 3000 sq ft now costs $125 000 and still no takers. The cheapest home now is listed for $62400 and the most expensive (see previous post)is now listed for $975000.

"As pendulums swing, they don't swing to one side and then stop at the middle.. So as expensive as real estate got, that's how cheap it's gonna get. People are gonna be completely amazed at the prices that houses are gonna be selling for in a few years. Amazed."
