After nationalizing the oil industry by taking over the biggest private company Yukos Oil and putting the CEO (Mikhail Khodorkovsky)in a cozy cold prison in Siberia.
Putin is now nationalizing the commodities/steel business.
Putin criticized Mechel's (=Mechel Steel)policy for the pricing of coal, stating that the company charged domestic Russian consumer twice the international price. Putin asks if the company has been avoiding Russian taxes by selling products internationally via foreign subsidiaries. Putin is asking for further investigation, ""I ask also the Federal Anti-monopoly Service [FAS] to pay special attention to this. Perhaps, even the Investigatory Committee of the Office of the Public Prosecutor. It is necessary to understand what is happening."

I know Russia is not high on the US "find the weapons of mass destruction / kill all terrorists in the world" list but HEY a war got the US out of the first Great Depression...maybe a war against Russia can get the US out of the "Bush Depression" that is coming.
