Maricopa: Sales April 07: 47
Maricopa: Sales April 08: 133+/- 180% rise in sales Year-over Year
Sales are down 25% Year-over-Year in the rest of the country.
Median price for Maricopa has dropped to $156000 (first Quarter 2008) from a high of $256000 (second Quarter 2006)
The same home as we rent was sold (auction) on another street (very close to where we live) for $170 000. Our owner paid $390 000 for our home in 2005 ...
The home that borders our backyard has been sold as well. $123 000 for a 2200 sq ft home.
One of the teacher at our school bought (foreclosure) a 1600 sq ft home for $80 000. That is a mortgage for about $500 a month ... incredible deal!
Homes are now sold for about $60 sq ft which is incredible. I am pretty sure it is close to the cost of the builders. But hey it's a supply demand thing, similar to the boom of 2003-2005, but now the roles are reversed and it hurts for most.
To convert sq ft to m2, divide the sq ft by 10.
